Ghosts in the photograph
Never lied to me
I’d be all of that
I’d be all of that
A false memory
Would be everything
My denial
My Elimenant
What was that for?
What would you do if you saw spaceships over Glasgow?
Would you fear them?
Every aircraft
Every camera
Is a wish that I never granted
What was that for?
Try to be bad
Today, my dear visitors, I’m taking you on a melancholic journey through Romanian fog. Melancholic not only because of the fog itself, but also because landscape was my favourite photography subject for a number of years.

The pictures presented in this post are creations of Mihai Grigorescu. He is a sensitive observer of wonders of every day life, a talented photographer who shows us the world we tend to long to live in, beautiful and uncomplicated, cheerful in its simplicity and optimistic.
On his website Mihai states humbly: ‘My first encounter with a Russian camera, brought home by my father, was in the mid-’70s. I am grateful to him for that. This was when it all started. Sort of chaotic at that time. With a predilection for landscapes at the beginning of the 80’s, as the color film was introduced. A regrettable and irreparable pause in the 90’s. At the beginning of the 3rd millennium, this time with a more organized approach to photography.’

It took me a while to decide which of the series available on his website to present here. My initial choice was ‘Ways of Life’. I guess it is not really necessary to explain why, taken my current photographic background. Then another thought occurred to me and, after a consultation, it turned out that this misty, foggy series is the favourite of the photographer himself. (I’m not sure if Mihai would mind a reference to Transylvania here, so I’m not going to venture it, even though in my mind this place is always shrouded in thick fogs and humid mists.) Mihai’s moody depictions of an awakening day were taken in Maramures, Romania.
